Marc Forster is to assume directing duties on The Jury, a remake of a 2002 British TV mini-series about the trial of a Sikh student charged with killing a classmate who tormented him. The film will explore the lives of those deciding the fate of the defendent, as well as the defendent himself.

The original series was written by Peter Morgan (The Queen), but Forster's version will be written by Beau Willimon.

We're not sure when Forster's going to squeeze this in, since he's already at work on Bond 22, which will likely keep him busy for a little while yet. Speaking of that project, producers are currently in negotiations for the film to shoot partly in Panama, where the hats come from. The production has been looking at coastal areas and 300-400 cast and crew are expected to start shooting there later this month.

N.B. The remake of The Jury is not to be confused with a remake of the 1996 Demi Moore squit The Juror. We briefly thought that was what it was and we don't want you to have to go through that. We love you too much.
