For years, Ahsoka Tano has been a fan-favourite Star Wars character who’s largely existed in the animated Clone Wars and Rebels series, plus – SPOILER WARNING for The Rise Of Skywalker – a brief voice cameo in the final reel of Episode IX. But it sounds like the character is about to make the full leap to the live-action end of the Star Wars universe, according to a new report from SlashFilm.
According to the site, Ahsoka will play a role in the upcoming second season of Disney+ show The Mandalorian, and is set to be portrayed by Rosario Dawson, taking over from voice actor Ashley Eckstein. The character was introduced as a the young Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker in the Clone Wars series, and in Rebels was shown to be part of the group that began the Rebellion of the original trilogy. While The Mandalorian is yet to launch in the UK – the first two episode arrive on Tuesday 24 March when Disney+ officially launches here – the show is set in the aftermath of Return Of The Jedi on the sketchy fringes of the galaxy after the fall of the Empire.
