Both of the giant superhero studios are about the Multiverse right now. Marvel is doing well with Spider-Man: No Way Home's dimension-jumping (and has Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness to follow), and DC has its own plans with next year's The Flash. According to an official cast list spotted by Collider, that film is adding Michael Shannon and Antje Traue, who last appeared in Man Of Steel.

The movie, which has Andy Muschietti in the director's chair, finds Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) grappling with his own life and mistakes, as he pushes the limits of his superpowers and ends up meddling with the multiverse. In addition to Miller, we can expect Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as their versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman, with Kiersey Clemons returning as Iris West and Ron Livingston replacing Billy Crudup as Barry's father, Henry. Sasha Calle is debuting in Supergirl, with Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Barry's mother.

Though the presence of Shannon and Traue doesn't necessarily mean they're definitely playing Zod and Faora-Ul, both of them together would certainly indicate that. Zod, of course, died at Superman's (Henry Cavill) in Steel, while Faora ended up trapped in the Phantom Zone.

The Flash will be out in the UK on 22 November next year.
