Having brought duplicitousness to the small screen with Riviera, Neil Jordan is preparing to make his return to cinemas with a new movie called The Widow. He's now cast Maika Monroe in the film.
The Widow already boasts Isabelle Huppert and Chloe Grace Moretz in the film that starts out as a good samaritan tale then morphs into something else. Moretz is playing Frances, a young woman who returns a widow's (Huppert) purse, leading to an unlikely friendship. But as they spend more time together, Frances discovers that her new older friend might not be all that she seems...
Monroe is on to play Erica, Frances' best friend with a wealthy father and a protective stance towards her. Jordan should be kicking off shooting soon. Last seen in Independence Day: Resurgence, Monroe has a few films on the way, including The Tribes Of Palos Verdes, Bokeh and Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House.
