Mad Max and more score acclaim from the US Critics Choice Awards

Mad Max: Fury road

The Critics Choice Awards took place last night in Los Angeles and it ended on another familiar list of names engraved on the trophies, with The Big Short, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brie Larson among them.

Easily the biggest winner of the night was Mad Max: Fury Road, which, having landed 13 nominations, required a war rig to tote its haul home after nabbing a variety of awards including Best Director, Best Action Movie and that category's acting trophies for Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.

Also in the slightly expected category, there were more awards for Sylvester Stallone, Alicia Vikander and Inside Out.

Check out the full list of film winners below.
