While 2019 will go down as the year that Lupita Nyong'o terrified us all in Us, she's also worked on a slightly more light-hearted horror tale in Little Monsters. Well, as light-hearted as zombies threatening kids can be... Still, she clearly enjoyed the shoot as she's teaming back up with that film's director Abe Forsythe for a new, untitled sci-fi comedy.

According to Deadline, it was once known as Miss Universe, and is a blend of Men In Black and Miss Congeniality. So feel free to speculate away as to what that might entail; aliens stealthily invading a beauty pageant? Humans abducted to take part in a galactic event?

Forsythe is writing and directing again, and Nyong'o is among the producers. Us distributors Universal won the rights to the film after an auction and will be backing the production.

Nyong'o has a few films at different stages, including action-thriller 355 and John Woo's remake of The Killer. She's also returning as Maz Katana in some capacity for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, due out on 19 December.
