To paraphrase Yoda, “There is... another... Hemsworth.” It’s not as if Luke Hemsworth has exactly been hiding – we’ve known there’s a third, older brother in the family besides Chris and Liam for years now. But he’s limited his acting work to TV until the announcement in January that he’s joined World War I drama The 34th Battalion. But since that’s still waiting to kick off shooting, it appears his actual film debut will be crime thriller** The Reckoning**.
In keeping with the sibling theme, Hemsworth’s co-star in the film will be Jonathan LaPaglia, younger brother to Anthony. The pair is set to play detectives searching for two teenagers who unwittingly shoot footage of a murder and are hunted by the criminals involved.
John V. Soto has written the script and aims to start filming at the end of April in Perth. Hemsworth has a lot of telly credits on his CV to date, having worked on Neighbours, Blue Heelers and Winners & Losers. He’ll likely segue on to The 34th Battalion after finishing The Reckoning. LaPaglia, meanwhile, has appeared in films such as Deconstructing Harry and** The Hit List**, as well as his own extensive TV career, which includes Cold Case, Underbelly and Seven Days.
