Just when you thought the Ocean’s Eleven sequels couldn’t possibly swallow up any bigger stars, along comes news that no lesser Hollywood acting god than Al Pacino has signed on board the Clooney-Soderbergh gravy train. Next stop: Las Vegas!
Yes, it’s true: Alfredo James Pacino will be shouting and/or whispering his way through Ocean’s Thirteen. He’s agreed to play Willie Banks (wonder if he has a lot of money?) who owns a hotel and casino complex on the Vegas strip (that’ll be a yes, then.)
Already on board the film are the regulars- including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle and Bernie Mac, with Pacino joining the other recent arrival, Ellen Barkin.
Brian Koppelman and David Levien – the Rounders scribes to you and me – have written the script and Steven Soderbergh plans to call action on July 21.
