Given what happens at the end of Fast Six (SPOILER ALERT if you haven’t seen the film), and how it ties into the events of The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift (hint: bye Han!), we really should have seen this casting news racing round the next bend: Lucas Black will be bringing Sean Boswell to **Fast & Furious 7.
But that’s only part of the news. While we’ve known for a while that Team Furious is looking to launch another set of films with this one, the confirmation came in word that Black has signed on for not just the seventh outing but potentially an eighth and ninth. So those who love the franchise right now will be delighted and the haters will be spinning their anger wheels until the stench of burning rubber strikes noses for miles around.
James Wan is directing the latest film, which brings back Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Tyrese Gibson and more of the old gang, facing off against Jason Statham and – though he’s still not officially been announced – Kurt Russell. Djimon Hounsou is also in the mix for the movie, which is once again written by Chris Morgan.
The first picture from the movie arrived yesterday via Vin Diesel’s Facebook page and the film itself is set to arrive here on July 25.
