Robert Benton – last seen behind the camera for 2003’s The Human Stain – will direct Feast Of Love for Lakeshore Entertainment.
The story’s based on a novel by Charles Baxter and follows a group of friends as they experience “the magical mysterious machinations of love.” Or so it says here.
After he’s finished that, he’ll move on to Appointment In Samarra, which he also wrote. It’s based on another novel, this one by John O’Hara, and chronicles the fall of a glamorous couple loved and loathed by the residents of a fictional town.
"Benton has the extraordinary ability to interpret and communicate complex human relationships," Lakeshore chairman Tom Rosenberg told The Hollywood Reporter. "He is the perfect director for the two films." He did see The Human Stain, right?
