With just over two months to go until its April 2 release, it was about time that The Losers – the action movie based on the comic book by Andy Diggle and Jock – got itself a trailer. Well, it came along online just a couple of hours ago – and it’s a doozy.
The trailer goes for an **Ocean’s 11 **vibe – only with added firepower – and the mixture of attractive cast (including Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Avatar star Zoe Saldana in smoking hot shocker, Idris Elba, Jason Patric and Chris Evans, playing against type as a geek), cool-looking action and the promise of plenty of chuckles makes this one look very appealing indeed.
The plot, in case you’re unaware, sees a team of bad-ass Black Ops soldiers, dubbed The Losers, betrayed and left for dead by Jason Patric’s megalomaniacal villain, Max. The easy thing to do would be to stay dead and resign themselves to a lifetime of Come Dine With Me repeats and crossword puzzles, but Morgan and his team decide to fight back. Hard.
Directed by Sylvain White, The Losers looks like it’s fairly faithful to Diggle’s exciting, often hilarious book, while there are enough new wrinkles in there to set it apart from this year’s other guys-on-a-mission movies, The A-Team and The Expendables.
Oh, and did we mention that Zoe Saldana’s in it? And is smoking hot? We did? Well, let’s mention it again, because gorram it, it’s worth mentioning.
