As production on Loki continues apace, we now know that an additional cast member is joining the fun, someone we're frankly surprised hasn't been in the MCU before: Richard E. Grant.
According to Discussing Film, Grant is joining the limited series in an unspecified role, to appear alongside Tom Hiddleston's leading troublemaker. The show takes the alternate version of the character we saw stealing the Tesseract and vanishing on journey through time, popping up at different points in history. Grant joins the likes of Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino and Cailey Fleming in the show, which should be on our screens next year.
And to be clear, it's not actually Grant's first Marvel-associated role – he played Dr. Rice in Logan. We have to admit we can't wait to see what he'll be up to in Loki.
In related Marvel/Disney+ news, there has been a setback for The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, which had planned a week's shooting in Prague, but has had to curtail that idea as the local government has put a number of restrictions in place in the wake of Coronavirus outbreaks. The show has largely been filming in Marvel's main production base of Atlanta, but scheduled the week in Europe before the outbreaks. There's no word yet on what the new plan for filming is, but Disney is still aiming to have the show on screens later this year. It's just the latest snag for the Anthony Mackie/Sebastian Stan-starring series, which already had to change plans after the Earthquake in Puerto Rico earlier this year.
