With the topics of Russia and spying both receiving heavy rotation in the news cycles across the pond and around the world these days, what better time for a movie about those very subjects? Logan Lerman and Olivia Cooke are on to star in The Tracking Of A Russian Spy.
Another tale based on real events, this is drawn from Mitch Swenson's memoir. It'll tackle how Swenson (Lerman) met a mysterious Russian woman named Katya (Cooke) in a New York night club. She vanished suddenly after 10 Russian-Americans were arrested in an operation to root out spies for the Kremlin, and Swenson headed to Moscow to learn who the woman he thought he knew really was, finding a deep gully of intrigue and suspicion.
Chris Salmanpour wrote the script for this one, and American Ultra's Nima Nourizadeh is directing for StudioCanal and The Picture Company.
Lerman has indie drama Sidney Hall coming out this year and is attached new thriller Rothchild. Cooke has been appearing on Bates Motel and will be seen as Art3mis in Ready Player One.
