Want to hear the new Jack White/Alicia Keys Bond theme song, Another Way To Die?

Well, you’ll have to wait a while longer – but if you want to hear a one-minute long instrumental version of the song White wrote for Quantum Of Solace, then today’s your lucky day.

For the song – in a Bond first – has cropped up as the backing for a new Coke Zero ad, shot in the mysterious and imaginative style of a Bond credit sequence. And needless to say, that advert has quickly found its way online. Click here to check it out before it’s taken down quick sharp.

Empire’s take? Well, judging a Bond song on a one-minute excerpt without vocals is a thankless task, but that never stopped us before. It starts off sounding like a typical Bond theme tune, but then some typical White riffery appears near the end and, frankly, kicks ass. It also appears to be a lot funkier than Bond theme songs of the recent past, and we’re loving the brass sound.

We can’t wait to hear it with the White/Keys vocals – and, like Joe Cornish, we’re intrigued to see if White has managed to crowbar ‘Quantum Of Solace’ into the lyrics somewhere. Although Chris Cornell’s excellent You Know My Name didn’t include ‘Casino Royale’ in the lyrics. Possibly because that would have been stupid.
