After taking on one of the more successful horror movies in recent times with** The Conjuring**, Lili Taylor is looking to leap aboard a Young Adult adaptation franchise. She’s just joined the cast of The Maze Runner Chapter II: The Scorch Trials alongside Barry Pepper.

Director Wes Ball’s adaptation of James Dashner’s first novel, The Maze Runner, has already proved a franchise starter, notching up more than $300 million around the world.

The sequel – spoiler alert for non-book fans and those who have yet to see the first film – finds Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and the other “Gladers” who escaped the Maze dealing with the next challenge in a world afflicted by massive solar flares and a virulent epidemic. Not to mention the more human threats present…

Kaya Scodelario and Thomas Brodie-Sangster are among those returning, with Patricia Clarkson’s manipulative scientist also present. Taylor will be Mary Cooper, a doctor who helps O'Brien's Thomas and friends, while Pepper is set as Vince{ =nofollow}, a survivalist and former soldier. Aiden Gillen, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito and Jacob Lofland are among those who have also signed on.

The Maze Runner Chapter II: The Scorch Trials is gearing up to shoot soon for a September 18, 2015 release date.
