We've had at least one trailer already for Pixar's Lightyear, which chronicles an adventure for the human astronaut film character whose likeness is used for the Buzz Lightyear toy in Toy Story (we know, we're still wrapping our heads around it too). As part of the Oscars telecast on Sunday night, a new TV spot teaser aired, and it gave us an even better look at the new movie.
Lightyear, which has Chris Evans voicing the title character, finds Buzz and his colleagues stranded on a mysterious planet. They're busy making an attempt to get home, a mission led by the heroic pilot, who will fly the first ship to take off.
There's fresh footage here of the tentacled alien troublemakers who also live on the planet, and of Socks (voiced by Pixar veteran Peter Sohn), the sweet robo-kitty who is part of Buzz's support team – and has "interesting" approach to white noise.
Plus we see more of what looks to be classic Buzz villain Zurg and some of the crew who work with our hero.
Lightyear will be in UK cinemas from 17 June this year. And yes, this time Disney is making sure that a Pixar movie makes it to the big screen rather than pushing it to Disney+.
