Lighthouses. Strange, spooky, lonely places just begging to be the focus of a claustrophobic thriller. Thank goodness, then, for Touchstone, which has bought a spec script by Dean Dubois called The Lighthouse.
Set just off the coast of Brittany in the English Channel (because all those desert-based lighthouses just seemed silly), the lighthouse is preparing to go automatic. But when the unlucky technician arrives to fit the new equipment, he finds two brothers who have been living there for years… and are chock full of dark secrets.
It’s a real change of subject for Dubois – he was the head writer on Disney’s Mulan and contributed to Lilo & Stitch. There’s no director or cast attached yet.
