Mike Newell is continuing to add cast members to his hefty adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ Love In The Time Of Cholera.
The cast already includes Javier Bardem as Florentino, a man who tries to win the heart of Giovanna Mezzogiorno’s Fermina, and then, when she chooses someone with more money, spends 50 years building his life up so that he’ll have a second shot. Some people really need to look into singles bars.
Joining the cast are Liev Schreiber as Lotario Thugut, who teaches Florentino all about women (obviously not well enough), Laura Harring as Sara Noriega, who Florentino romances on his mission to become the perfect man, while Ana Claudia Talancon and Rubria Negrao have also been cast as women that Florentino seduces along the way.
Newell is busy shooting the film in Spain as you read this.
