Liam Neeson clearly enjoyed working with Seth MacFarlane on A Million Ways To Die In The Wes****t, even if the box office figures suggest that few moviegoers shared that enthusiasm. The Taken tough guy is appearing in MacFarlane’s latest, comedy sequel Ted 2, as announced in a tweet from the writer/director himself.

Neeson is not alone in joining the film. Hitfix has learned that Mad Men’s John Slattery is aboard in an equally unspecified capacity. Whether the pair are key members of the cast or simply popping up for cameos remains to be seen; given the scattershot style of MacFarlane’s works, it could be either.

Ted 2 follows up the misadventures of the potty-mouthed toy bear (MacFarlane on voice duty) who was brought to life by a wish from John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg). Few details have emerged about the plot this time, but it may see Ted getting into some legal difficulty, which is hardly surprising given his behaviour.

Morgan Freeman was recently confirmed as co-starring, along with a mixture of Ted veterans (Patrick Warburton, Jessica Barth) and newcomers (Amanda Seyfried, another West recruit, Michael Dorn and Richard Schiff). The sequel will be hoping to match the original’s box office success and hits UK screens on July 10 next year.
