Mr. Plow, that’s his name, that name again is Mr. Plow. Or, Nels Coxman. But for now, we’ll just call him Mr. Plow. Liam Neeson is back in action-thriller territory with Cold Pursuit, where he plays – you guessed it – an avenging dad tracking down the baddies who threaten his family. And this time, said dad is a snowplough driver. The first trailer has just cleared a path online:

Despite some serious subject matter – Mr. Plow’s son has been murdered by drug lord Viking – this one seems to be self-knowing and quippy, with Guy Ritchie-style nickname-freezeframes to introduce the film’s colourful characters. Oddly, the film comes from Norwegian director Hans Petter Moland, remaking his own 2014 outing In Order Of Disappearance, which starred Stellan Skarsgård in the nominally-tweaked lead role of Nils Dickman. Let’s be honest, it’s all a bit confusing – all you really need to know is, Liam Neeson, snow plough, punching people. Oh, and Laura Dern.
Cold Pursuit will pave a way to UK cinemas on 22 February 2019.
