It looks like Liam Neeson had a blast making The A-Team with Joe Carnahan, because [he’s apparently in negotiations to join the director’s next project, survival drama The Grey.

The Wrap reports that Neeson is close to locking in a deal to play the team leader to a group of pipeline workers who become stranded in the Alaska wilderness after their plane crashes.

Just trying to stay alive in the harsh conditions is bad enough, but then they come under attack from a pack of dangerous wolves who decide that the humans are intruding on their territory and must be destroyed (kinda harsh towards wolves, which aren't that bad usually). We’d make some joke here about Neeson employing a particular set of skills, but we know we swore to lay off that one. What we do know is he’ll have a reason to live – he’s trying to get back to the woman he loves.

Carnahan worked on the script with Ian Mackenzie Jeffers, the man responsible for the short story that it’s based on.

With Ridley and Tony Scott’s production company backing the film, Carnahan hopes to have it shooting early next year, once he has a few more cast members in place.
