Though she's been working solidly in TV, it has been 12 years since Lexi Alexander – the director behind Green Street and Punisher: War Zone – was behind the camera for a film. All that changes now, as she's shooting Absolute Dominion and has cast the likes of Désiré Mia, Patton Oswalt, Alex Winter, Oluniké Adeliyi, Reagan Gomez and Julie Ann Emery in her latest project.
Here's the synopsis: It’s 2085 AD and the world has been destroyed by religious warfare. Desperate to save humanity, global governing forces host a gripping, no-holds-barred, martial arts tournament. Last fighter standing wins Absolute Dominion for one faith.
Yeah, definitely can't see any religion having an issue with this one, but they can all send one representative to talk to Alexander and see how they fare against the kickboxer and martial arts expert, who was a stunt performer before turning her hand to directing.
The cast also includes Alok Vaid-Menon, Andy Allo, Jennifer Jajeh, Juliana Joel, June Carryl, Junes Zahdi, Laith Ashley, Mario D’Leon, Nora Armani and Shawn Mousavi.
Stunt expert Phil Tan is working as stunt coordinator for the movie, which Alexander wrote and is now cranking the cameras on in Nevada. It doesn't have a set release date yet, but will arrive via Netflix.
