Though he's worked on an animated Justice League movie in the past, writer/producer/director John Ridley usually specialises in the past and thriller genres. He's dipping into science fiction for Needle In A Timestack, which will feature Leslie Odom Jr., Freida Pinto, Orlando Bloom and Cynthia Erivo.
Ridley adapted the script from Robert Silverberg's 1966 short story, which focuses on a world where time travel, or "phasing" has been happening for years. Unfortunately for those who live there, including married couple Mikkelsen and Janine, that means your world can change on a daily basis. And as a man named Tommy Hambleton tries to split them up, it's up to Mikkelsen to figure out what has changed...
The project will mark Ridley's return to the big screen after a number of TV projects, including Guerrilla (which co-starred Pinto) and American Crime. BRON Studios, which took over the film from the faltering Miramax, will produce.
