After announcing just Jennifer Lawrence and Rob Morgan for his latest, comedy drama Don't Look Up, Adam McKay has looked at star-studded ensembles of Ocean's Eleven and Avengers Endgame and said, "hold my call sheet". He's added (deep breath) Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Himesh Patel, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry and Tomer Sisley to the cast.
Don't go expecting them to all crowd into the frame, though – like The Big Short, many of the performers will pop up in cameos. DiCaprio, however, has made a deal to play a lead alongside Lawrence, with the pair as two low-level scientists who, upon discovering that a meteor will strike the Earth in six months, go on a media tour to try to warn the world but find an unreceptive and unbelieving populace.
McKay wrote the script and is gearing up to direct starting next month in Boston. DiCaprio had to figure out his schedule between this and Martin Scorsese's Killers Of The Flower Moon, (which he'll work on afterwards) and this is a big get for Netflix.
