A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Ethan Hawke planned to starin James DeMonaco’s sci-fi thriller Vigilandia. Now he’ll have some company, because Lena Headey has been cast in the female lead.
As for what the film is about, we still can’t say. Not because we’re being difficult, but because DeMonaco and his producers are keeping the details strictly under wraps for now.
What we do know is this: the film will be very low budget, with Variety describing it as somewhere around the level of Insidious. That's not shocking, since that film’s producer Jason Blum is also helping to get this one made. His Blumhouse company is working alongside Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes to drum up the cash, and now Universal has agreed to provide the much-needed boost.
While Headey might still be best known for her role as Queen Gorgo in 300, she’s more recently been seen as the plotting, dangerous Cersei Lannister on Game Of Thrones, which returns to our TVs on April 2. And she’ll stay in villainous mode for Dredd, which will be out later this year.
