Anyone worried that Kevin Smith’s currently-shooting Bruce Willis/Tracy Morgan buddy comedy, A Couple Of Dicks, might not be Kevin Smith-y enough, given that he didn’t write it, can relax after Smith regular Jason Lee joined the cast.
Smith, in a move that is bound to make him feel older than he’d like to admit, will play the stepfather of the 23 year-old Michelle Trachtenberg, who also signed on to the cast today.
And, to complicate matters yet further, Trachtenberg’s character is the daughter of Bruce Willis’ veteran police detective who, along with his partner (Morgan), becomes embroiled in a madcap hunt for veteran baseball cards that takes in laundered money, kidnapped Mexican beauties and mobsters.
Frankly, we can’t wait for this – the script, by Robb and Marc Cullen, is said to be a belter; the cast, including Seann William Scott, Adam Brody and Kevin Pollak, is cracking; and Smith has been waxing lyrical about the New York shoot so far on his Twitter feed. Now, with the addition of the former Banky Edwards, we’re doubly excited about the Warner Bros. movie, the first film to be directed by Smith from a script he didn't write himself.
