Leonardo DiCaprio’s getting caught in the counterculture – in a biopic.
He’s been working on an untitled film about LSD guru Timothy Leary for a while now, ever since he knew the man before Leary’s death in 1996.
Now DiCaprio has hired The Dying Gaul writer Craig Lucas and Leary historian Michael Horowitz to crack on with a script that chronicles part of Leary’s early life. Leo plans to star as the famed spokesman for the LSD crowd who had an interesting life even before he became known for his turn on, tune in, drop out stance on life. Enrolled at the West Point military academy in the 1940s, Leary ended up escaping from prison in 1970. Should be quite a film…
