Currently fighting for her life and her community’s safety as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence is not letting her battles stop her from considering other, future, film roles. Now Deadline has heard that she’s David O Russell’s top choice for one of his next planned projects, The Silver Linings Playbook.

You may recall that Silver Linings has been adapted by Russell from Matthew Quick’s novel and finds Mark Wahlberg as Pat Peoples, a former high school teacher who entered an asylum for depression and is then released to the custody of his mother.

While he initially tries to win back his wife, he also starts a relationship with an eccentric neighbour, which is the role Lawrence is seriously being considered for.

If she lands the job, Lawrence will have beaten out the likes of Rachel McAdams, Blake Lively, Anne Hathaway and Andrea Riseborough, who have all appeared on Russell’s casting list. Of course, it’s not set in stone yet, but there’s no denying Lawrence is an actress in demand.

Once he finally has his cast in place, Russell will kick off shooting in the autumn.
