After two near-identical teasers (you can find one of them at the bottom of the page), it’s nice to see some new scenes from the Coens’ latest, Inside Llewyn Davis. The latest trailer is online over at Apple, so go and take a gander.
Inside Llewyn Davis finds Oscar Isaac as Davis, a folk singer trying to keep his dream alive in 1960s New York. Somehow, he just can’t get out of his own way, making bad choices and generally being a flaky drunk who has also impregnated the wife of his best friend (Carey Mulligan plays the vitriolic woman in question).
With little support from those around him, and few music types willing to take a risk on his particular, soulful singing style, Davis tumbles from crisis to crisis, his only constant companions his cat and his guitar.
We got a look at the film in Cannes and liked what we saw, but the big test will come at the box office on both sides of the pond. US audiences will see it on December 20, but UK audiences will have to wait until January 24.
