Another day, another dwarf pic. Yes, continuing to fill out the Short, Bearded, Weapon-Hefting Men of Middle-earth 2012 calendar, the Hobbit team has released the latest image, this time containing Bombur, Bofur and Bifur via IGN.
The three, to be played in the two Hobbit movies by (left to right) Stephen Hunter, James Nesbitt and William Kircher are decidedly different from the rest of the dwarf contingent.
While the others are part of the noble, royal line of Durin, these three are from the West, born into coal mining and iron working families and lured on the quest for the Lonely Mountain thanks to a combo of fortune hunting and the promise of free grog.
Nesbitt wil of coursel be the most familiar to everyone, having appeared on British telly for years and in the likes of** Bloody Sunday**. Hunter is a veteran of New Zealand TV series and Kircher has cropped up in shows such as Xena and The Tribe.
If you've missed any of the other image releases so far, you can find them here, here and here.
You’ll likely have this information seared into your brain by now, but The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey arrives on December 14, 2012, with The Hobbit: There and Back Again following the year after that.
