While we're sure there will be deleted material on the movie's eventual download/home entertainment releases, Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson has revealed that the novelisation of his film will include some unseen scenes. See him talk about it on the latest episode of The Star Wars Show...
Novelist Jason Fry is the man who has been working away on the book, and he's been working closely with the filmmaker to include moments that didn't make it into the final cut. "Rian Johnson and I had an amazing conversation," Fry says. "We got to write entirely new scenes for the book: Han Solo’s funeral, Rose and Paige Tico together, and further explorations of the fascinating world of Canto Bight, to name just a few." There's still a chance for that Porgy, then, for those few weird souls who really want to learn about that.
It's common for novelisations to feature more material than the film – sometimes it's a result of the author working from an earlier draft of the script. But such close collaboration is both unusual and welcome. The book will hit shelves on 6 March.
