We live in an age when spoilers are rooted out with all the feverish determination of a squirrel foraging for nuts before winter’s icy grip takes hold. So you can understand why some companies might want to keep their secrets close. But a horror thriller that has just scored the services of the man who made The Last Exorcism? It seems less urgent, but we do at least know that Daniel Stamm is directing Elimination.

Zak Olkewicz is behind the script for this one, and there is no sign of any plot details yet. Yes, it’s true that staying quiet about such information means there’s less chance of someone pumping out a cheapie version before you can get to screens, but it also means we have to try to guess what it’s about.

So… Elimination… Could be a killer toilet, around the idea of eliminating waste. But probably not. More likely it’s along the lines of a stalker thriller where someone has a target on their back and must run for their life. Shawn Levy is producing the film for Fox Searchlight via his 21 Laps company, but there’s probably not much room for a monkey that likes to slap people around a la Levy's Night At The Museum franchise. Unless that’s something they could add in. Crystal the monkey needs to work too, people.

Despite the lack of knowledge, we can assume this one is aiming to be on screens next year, but you’ll have to ask the filmmakers.
