Six months on from the teaser trailer, with another seven to wait for the film's release, Yahoo have just revealed a couple of character banners for M Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.
We have some moody back-to-camera posing, and, reflecting the elemental nature of the enterprise (heroes wielding the powers of Earth, Wind and Water against the evil Fire Lord), the cool blues of Noah Ringer's Air poster, against the reds of twisted firebender Dev Patel. We were going to say "oranges", but "Dev Patel's fiery oranges" sounds wrong.
The Last Airbender is based on the 64-episode Nickelodeon cartoon from the mid-to-late noughties, which mashed up the traditions of anime and US animation into a wholesome and tasty new flavour. In its original incarnation it was actually called Avatar, with **The Last Airbender **as the subtitle. But not any more. No.

Wirefighting and FX action have not previously been the order of the day in the house of Shyamalan, so we're looking forward to this. A new trailer is promised shortly, and we'll find out if this is M Night's first palpable hit in a while on August 13.
