“Why you slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler...” says Lando Calrissian to Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back. “You've got a lot of guts coming here, after what you pulled.” Now it seems like we may discover what Han “pulled”, exactly: The Wrap reports that the Cloud City casanova himself will be making an appearance in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie, the second planned Star Wars anthology film.
The character, originally played by Billy Dee Williams in Empire Strikes Back and reprised in Return Of The Jedi was portrayed as an old friend of Han’s, and it’s implied that the two embarked on many adventures together – so it makes sense that a Han Solo origin story would feature Lando. (We could even see the game of sabacc in which Lando loses the Millennium Falcon to Han.)
There’s no word on who might be filling the role, though according to some reports, an early frontrunner seems to have emerged in Donald Glover – who would certainly have the smooth-talking charisma required. But we are firmly in rumour and hearsay territory here.
The Lego Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller are currently prepping for the new movie, which features Alden Ehrenreich in the role made famous by Harrison Ford. [Ehrenreich was officially unveiled for the part](http://www.empireonline.com/movies/star-wars-group/alden-ehrenreich-han-solo/

Filming on the movie is due to begin early next year, aiming for a May 2018 release date.
