The New York Film Critics Circle took their turn at the awards table on Thursday, and both Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird and Sean Baker's The Florida Project walked away with several trophies.

Gerwig's film about a young woman finding her place in the world scored Best Picture, while lead Saoirse Ronan won Best Actress, which would seem to cement her place in the Oscar conversation for the award. Baker, meanwhile, was named Best Director and saw Florida Project's Willem Dafoe nab Best Supporting Actor.

More surprising, but certainly welcome, was Tiffany Haddish taking Best Supporting Actress for Girls Trip, while Jordan Peele won another award for Get Out. Pixar's Coco scored another Best Animated Film gong, so we can certainly see that going all the way next March.
