La La Land’s Damien Chazelle Creating A Show For Apple

In the heady world of streaming services, there is clearly no room for loyalty, especially when you're an in-demand creator. So after signing on to make musical drama The Eddy for Netflix last year (which is still a going concern), La La Land writer/director Damien Chazelle is also working on something for Apple.

Quite what that "something" is – beyond a TV series for which Chazelle will direct all the episodes of its first season, and which seems him working again with Land producers Jordan Horowitz and Fred Berger – is currently not something that Apple is willing to announce. We'll probably have to wait, like with news of new iPhones, for someone to leak the details...

It's just the latest move from Apple to cut itself a piece of the streaming service pie, having made various deals with people such as Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steven Spielberg recently. Though the company is a latecomer to the idea of making original TV series, it certainly appears to be starting strong.

Chazelle also remains busy on the big screen, reuniting with his Land star Ryan Gosling for Neil Armstrong biopic First Man, due out on 2 November.
