Nicole Kidman brought more than a touch of Hollywood glamour to the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival. The actress wowed the crowds at the world premiere for Moulin Rouge which took place last night. Kidman was joined at the Palais des Festival by co-stars Ewan McGregor, John Leguizamo and the film's director Baz Luhrmann as well as a host of can-can dancers for one of the most glitzy opening nights that Cannes has seen for some years. Kidman prefaced last night's premiere with a press conference in which she presented a strong front to the world following her split from Tom Cruise. 'Obviously this would not be my choice,' Kidman told reporters. 'To sit in front of everyone and have questions about my personal life. I do feel really proud of this film.' Meanwhile, Ewan McGregor was stirring up a hornet's nest of his own with a less than positive take on The Phantom Menace. '[Episode II] is just a better script," McGregor told Ananova. Ewan went on to say that the script for Episode I by comparison, 'could have been better. Could have been a lot better.'
