With production now underway on the untitled sequel to 2021's Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer/director Gil Kenan is adding to the cast, with Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind boarding.
They'll join returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard and Celeste O'Connor in the story, which is returning to the original movies' roots in New York City and the firehouse, which as we saw in one of the credit stings from Afterlife, has been put back action by Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson).
No other details on the story have been released yet, but the movie marks a switch behind the scenes, with the previous film's director, Jason Reitman, co-writing once again but producing this time. Whatever it ends up titled, the sequel is scheduled for release on 20 December this year.
