Kristen Bell has been busy recently, working on all sorts of movies, including Some Girl(s), Writers, the Farrelly brothers’ big anthology comedy and Hit And Run, written and co-directed by fiancé Dax Shepard. She’s adding one more to the list, taking on The Lifeguard for director Liz W. Garcia.
The writer / producer, who has worked on shows such as Dawson’s Creek and Cold Case, is making the leap to film directing with this tale of Leigh (Bell), a 29 year-old reporter who ditches her life in New York to head back to her home town where she starts working as a lifeguard, just as she did when she was in high-school.
But that’s not the only drastic change in her life: she also starts a relationship with a 16 year-old delinquent. Thirty seems a little early for a mid-life crisis if you ask us, but whatever works...
Mamie Gummer, Martin Starr, Alex Shaffer, Joshua Harto and Amy Madigan are also among the cast and Garcia starts shooting this month in Pittsburgh.
