They haven't shared the screen outside of talk show appearances, but for a new comedy called Like Father, Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer could be spending a lot of time together.

Bell is making a deal to play a workaholic woman who is left at the altar by her groom-to-be but decides to head off on her honeymoon cruise anyway. At sea, she ends up running into one person she didn't expect: her equally driven father, who left her and her mother when she was five, believing that his family was holding back his career.

Netflix is backing the movie, which would mark the feature directing debut of actress/writer Lauren Miller, who previously co-scripted and co-starred in For A Good Time, Call... and has directed several shorts. She's aiming to start the cameras rolling this August in New York and has also planned time on location in the Caribbean.

Bell has A Bad Moms Christmas due here on 3 November and will be heard in short Frozen spin-off Olaf's Frozen Adventure. Grammer's next job to hit screens will be Amazon drama The Last Tycoon, which launches all episodes of its first season on 28 July.
