While it now looks unlikely that John Krasinski will be picking up Steve Rogers’ shield to play **Captain America, he’ll still be gainfully employed, as he's signing on for Something Borrowe****d, based on Emily Giffin’s novel.

Ginnifer Goodwin is already attached to play a woman who falls in love with her best friend’s fiancé just as she turns 30. Krasinski’s role? Her other best mate and confidante.

And while many film deals include a clause with a sequel option, it looks like production house Alcon is already planning for that film, buying the rights to Giffin’s follow-up book (called, unsurprisingly, Something Blue) and making sure Krasinski will be available, since [POTENTIAL MINOR SPOILER] his character features even more prominently in the sequel [END POTENTIAL MINOR SPOILER].

Luke Greenfield is the man behind the camera for at least the first movie, which he aims to start shooting in the spring.
