After spending a lot of time in the cold for Game Of Thrones, Kit Harington seems to enjoy finding film projects with a little heat to them. He’s now part of the cast of the new thriller Brimstone, subbing in for Robert Pattinson, who dropped out recently{
Director Martin Koolhoven, who is busy shooting the film now, has had to deal with one other cast change, as Mia Wasikowska left the project and Dakota Fanning took her place. As described by backers Embankment Films, the tone is “a triumphant epic of survival set in the searing wilds of the Badlands, the menacing inferno of the old American West. A tale of powerful womanhood and resistance against the unforgiving cruelty of a hell on earth. Our heroine is Liz, carved from the beautiful wilderness, full of heart and grit, accused of a crime she didn’t commit, hunted by a vengeful Preacher (Pearce) – a diabolical zealot and her twisted nemesis. But Liz is a genuine survivor; she’s no victim – a woman of fearsome strength who responds with astonishing bravery to claim the better life she and her daughter deserve."
Harington will be an outlaw called Samuel who plays a crucial role in Liz’s escape attempt, while the movie will also make for a mini Thrones reunion, as Carice van Houten is also aboard alongside Paul Anderson (neither Thomas nor W.S.), Jack Roth and Carla Juri.
Harington is also attached to The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan, though that is still in development. He’s also part of the cast for HBO’s comedy tennis TV movie 7 Days In Hell, which will arrive on the cable channel on July 11 and should be on Sky Atlantic over here shortly after that.
