Kingsman: The Golden Circle might not have been greeted with the same critical welcome as the first film, but it made almost as much money. And Matthew Vaughn has talked about the idea of a third film. Now it appears he'll be going ahead with it.
According to Exhibitor Relations' Twitter feed, the new movie has set an 8 November, 2019 release date, and IGN has confirmed that it's in the works.
Whether Vaughn will definitely direct remains to be seen, but unlike Kick-Ass 2, he came back for the second Kingsman, so there's a good chance he'll stick around instead of simply co-writing and producing.
Also unknown at this time is what will happen in the new film, the adventures that Eggsy (Taron Egerton), Harry (Colin Firth) and the rest will get up to, and whether the US-based Statesman (including Channing Tatum's Tequila) will be involved. It's perhaps no surprise that the new Kingsman outing might try to sneak in to fill the gap left by that other spy, who recently moved from his appointed slot...
