The bowl haircut is a very particular look. Next-to-nobody has a chance of actually pulling it off – but if there’s anyone with a fighting chance, it’s Timothée Chalamet. The actor, who has put in a string of brilliant performances in the likes of Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird, and Beautiful Boy, is back in David Michôd’s historical drama (and partial Shakespeare adaptation) The King. For his lead role as Henry V, or Prince Hal as he was at one point know, Chalamet’s signature curly locks got the chop. Out with the old, in with the bowl.

“Everyone freaked about about the haircut a little bit,” the director tells Empire in the October 2019 issue, “but no matter what, it just had to happen. And I mean, his middle name is Hal! It’s just one of those beautiful, serendipitous meeting of people and project.”
