For the first time in his long and prolific career Stephen King is going to adapt a book by another author. The man behind The Shining, Carrie and The Shawshank Redemption will be penning a script from the novel Asylum by Patrick McGrath. The gothic horror is set in an English mental hospital, and follows the illicit affair between the deputy superintendent's wife and one of the inmates, who is also a murderer. Jonathan Demme, director of Philadelphia and Beloved, is attached to direct, and real-life husband and wife Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson are penned in to star.
