Mere hours after the Season 2 premiere hit Stateside screens, word has arrived that Killing Eve will be back for Season 3. And, as with the baton handover between the first season's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and the second's Emerald Fennell, there will be a new voice in charge of the writers' room, as Suzanne Heathcote is taking over.
Heathcote, a veteran of Fear The Walking Dead, will oversee the next segment of story adapted from Luke Jennings' Codename Villanelle novels as the tale of murder, violence, obsession and bonding continues between Sandra Oh's MI5 agent Eve Polastri and Jodie Comer's psychopathic assassin Villanelle.
"It’s been such an exciting year for me on Killing Eve. I think it’s cool that this tradition has been built into this untraditional show," says Fennell. "Inheriting some of Phoebe’s characters was a treat – I can’t wait to see what Suzanne does next."
Waller-Bridge also seems pleased: "I’m very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season 3. We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands."
With US audience enjoying the show courtesy of BBC America and AMC, there's still no exact details on when the show will return here and recent reports pointing to having to wait at least until all eight episodes have aired across the pond. Boo!
