Having worked on a horror thriller and a Disney remake in the last few months, Kiersey Clemons is looking to change things up slightly for a future film. She's attached to star as real-life Wall Street trader Lauren Simmons.

Though bankers, financial managers and other money-moving types have earned a dreadful reputation in the years since the financial crash, Simmons' story is more one of inspiration and representation.

A native of the state of Georgia, Simmons had graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2016 with a degree in genetics (and a minor in statistics). After realising that her passions lay outside medicine, she moved to New York and replied to a job posting in the finance industry. To get hired, she had to take the grueling Series 19 exam with no formal background and only one month to prepare. Somehow she managed to pass the test and get the gig.

She's now become known as the youngest women ever to walk the floors of the New York Stock Exchange at the age of 23 and only the second ever African American woman to trade full time.

There is no director or write attached just yet, so this one will have to wait a little while. Clemons has other jobs to keep her busy, including playing Joanne in a new planned live TV production of Rent.
