As she awaits her duties on the stand-alone Flash film for Warner Bros. and DC, Kiersey Clemons is busy with other work. She's now joining Gael Garcia Bernal in Zorro pic Z.

With Jonás Cuarón in the director's chair, this represents another step in the film finally getting out of development limbo where it has lingered for several years. Cuarón took over writing the movie back in 2016 and has maintained the setting – switching the usual Zorro territory for the near-future, where the masked swashbuckler will be battling unknown villains. Originally set to kick off shooting the year Cuarón came aboard to reunite with his Desierto star, it's now had to wait until this June to get moving. According to the IMDB, she's playing a character called Zee, but there are no details of the implications. Could she be another take on the character?

Clemons, who has appeared in movies such as last year's Flatliners remake, Bad Neighbours 2 and Dope, is on to play Iris West in Flashpoint alongside Ezra Miller's Barry Allen when that movie finally gets made, and will be seen in Hearts Beat Loud and TV comedy Angie Tribeca.
