The books of John Green have been reliable source material for teen-focused romantic dramas. And now Netflix wants to muscle in on adapting one of his tomes, hiring the likes of Kiernan Shipka, Shameik Moore, Isabela Moner, Jacob Batalon, Odeya Rush and more for Let It Snow.
Published in 2008, the bestseller saw Green writing alongside Lauren Myracle and Maureen Johnson. Finding Dory co-writer Victoria Strouse worked on the script for this one, which follows what happens when a once-in-century snowstorm hits a small town on Christmas Eve. Several high school seniors discover unexpected opportunities as well as complications that test their friendships, love lives, and aspirations for the future.
Luke Snellin is in the director's chair for the new film, which will also include Miles Robbins, Mitchell Hope, Liv Hewson, Anna Akana and Joan Cusack. It's interesting to note how many of the young stars in particular have appeared in Netflix shows.
Cameras will roll on the film early this year, but Netflix hasn't yet announced when it'll hit the streaming service. Best guess? Close to Christmas!
