Kidman To Star in Doug Liman's Next

After several years in action cinema, including this week's Jumper (read our review of that here), Doug Liman is planning something a little lower-key. Liman revealed to MTV that his next film will tell the story of Valerie Plame and Ambassador Joseph Wilson, with Nicole Kidman as Plame.

Plame hit the headlines fairly recently when White House officials revealed the fact that she was working as a CIA agent in an attempt to discredit her husband, following a 2003 article he wrote in the New York Times accusing the Bush administration of using dishonest evidence to justify their invasion of Iraq.

"I have a really, really insane take on how to tell it. It's so outrageous," Liman told MTV. "Ultimately, I'd be doing something no one has ever done before. Therefore it's automatically appealing to me. I'm just starting to explore whether [what I have in mind] is even possible to do."

We wouldn't expect this project to happen any time very soon, since Kidman's currently heavily pregnant. But we're extremely intrigued by what Liman might have planned. We have no idea what insane way there might be to tell this story, which could be a great one even told traditionally, but we want to find out. Even though Jumper is just ok, his level of creativity in his movies is always very high and we can't wait to see what he does with something a bit different.
